The serenade of a cold nights’ wind

October 11th, 2008 by ibanmangah

Believing in something could really make a difference in ones’ life. Contradicting with popular believe that an action determines the break or make point; believing in something would only make you believe in it stronger when it failed the first time around. If you have the compassion to keep on believing after you tried and failed; then you really do believe. I believe in myself so much that I once denounce my religion and my love for God; then I failed, and renounced my religion through the new found love in God. In this context I accept that I do not believe in myself as much as I believe in Him.  Now I still do believe in myself, but my self doubt sometimes cloud my judgments and actions resulting a much laid back lifestyle and a better understanding of life and my surrounding. Peace is something that everyone seeks, and even if it seems easy, it is hard to find. Is peace even there? Peace of mind is like a unicorn or a big foot; you want it to be real but it is almost never found. If you believe in peace, then where would you find it? In your lovers eyes? In the sweet scent of blossoming flowers? In the serenade of a cold nights’ wind? Surely, to me, I believe in peace, as to me, peace is like beauty; for peace is beautiful. Just imagine a world where people don’t fight, a world where a child’s smile would not be tainted by the cries of their mother sadden by the lost of lives of loved ones in wars? Can you imagine waking up to a world where people move freely without having to worry about money and status; a world so free yet peaceful. Beautiful isn’t it? If beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, then so should peace. Why fight when we can forgive? Why hate when we can love? He told us to turn the other cheek, He who died for us, if we are so smart and civilized, why don’t we listen to His words? Why can the other believe Him too? Is He not the one who comes back for us ALL? His way is simple; forgiveness and love. That’s all He asked for; but what happens in the world today mostly are between His believers and His doubters. People are willing to die for their believes; but would they be willing to forgive, accept and understand for peace? I pray to the Lord above, to give us a sign and give us a way, to make people start loving, forgiving, accepting and of course believing. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Twintech College Sarawak Culture

October 10th, 2008 by ibanmangah

Bloody hell; never tght I would post a Twintech Culture ever; coz I never tght I would understand this place. If im wrong please do correct me and reply to me, for I am not perfect, but I am FLAWLESS.

WARNING: not for the weaker heart and not for those who have no sense of humor. This may be funny, but It’s a fact… No, It’s more than a fact; ITS CULTURE.

  1. Discipline unit is Twintech Managements Cash Cow. Whenever there is a spot check or on that “pain in the a*s, day that If I Could I would burn” formal Monday. Always wear according to the guidelines as shown on the notice board.

à Formal Mondays and formal attire in college are LAME. RM 10 for each penalty

  1. The students’ official message box and bulletin box are the tables in Block B. If your name is not written there; You are not HOT!

à Suzy Hot! And other comments can be found in block B tables. Read em.

  1. Smoking is so IN right now. If you don’t smoke, your social life is 0.

à 1.25 % of air pollution is cause by Twintech Student (and staff; esp tht new

Finance guy who we called – Smoking man).

  1. If boys are here for girls; you don’t need fame, money or cars. Motorcycle is the official Chick Magnet in Twintech. I dunno what happens to cars and fame. But if that’s all you’ve got and no bikes, you’ll never get laid here.

à 90% of bikers have girls here. Even the girls have girls. Bizzaro.

  1. The student body (Student Council) are officially puppets of the management.

They plan, the Management approve and reject. MOSTLY rejects. 2 people in the  council cant make a difference if the head have no balls. We pay Council fees once or twice a year, and gets events that needs us to pay much more.

à Twintech’s “another” cash cow. I was in the council once; and it was cold.

  1. Twintech College has the most open gay students around. We have fags, she-

male (trans), gays, lesbians, pondan anak bayat, everything. A few months back,

they counseling to these people, but yet overlooked the drug taking, alcohol consuming and open sex students.

à Which is more dangerous; a guy who is high on drugs or a guy who wears

      skirts?

  1. Internet in the college is a joke. You cant do anything serious with Twintech’s connection.

à I manage to do this in Pustaka. Me poor ma, dunhav greens to buy em fancy

      modem whtever.

  1. Contra to my previous College; here the lecture actually wants you to pass.

      Serioussly.

à If you go somewhere else, it would be really different, esp to us Ibans who

have more than hair above our shoulders.

  1. People here wants sex more, its almost Desperate Housewife like.

à I want sex too, but the level of Wanting Sex here is pathetically desperate.

     10.  We have gangster CNI here. CNI is this cult-like mlm. Damn their freeky.

à Those geng CNI are suppose to be rich in around 3 years or sumthing; and they

are cool—to their friends and family ONLY.

Innocent Dummies

April 1st, 2008 by ibanmangah

Last Sunday (28/3/08), we played at Temuai Lounge for their Rock Show. We played 4 songs, namely, Open Your Eyes- Alter Bridge, Buried Myself Alive-The Used, Enter Sandman-Metallica, and BYOB- System of a Down.

At first, when Guy applied for the show, the management said that we should perform at night, "with the other kids" they said. Then, on the day we submit our form, Guy showed him (Suria Music Studio Owner) some fancy licks and Arpeggios, he asked if we could play at night, "with the big boys", and of course our answer is "yes". Since we are new in the Kuching Indie/Underground scene, we were asked to be the opening act, as the 1st band to perform. Then, Sifu (Suria Music Studio Owner) asked a favour from the management of Temuai so that we could play 3rd. There were 10 bands that night, and in the end, after we arrived at the place, the management asked us to play 5th. We were stuck in the middle. The 1st band played some sort of ska-metal-ish, and the 2nd band perform Progressive-rock ala Muse (actually all the songs they played was Muses’), the 3rd band was Jaket Biru- they actually are quite famous playing around clubs here in Kuching, and can be called "otai" in the local underground/indie scene, that night, Their most memorible songs were Bujang Senang and Sejati; the vocals chocked at some points, and well, they cant hold no breath against us. The 4th band was Black-sumthing; sori, cant remember the name, they played their own songs, quite forgetable, because its mellow and grunge.

We were the 5th to perform, and as usual, when the guys set up and tune up their instruments, I heat up the crowd with some lines, and i asked them to "keep the beer flowing". The crowd were realy lively during our performence. They were singing with us in the verse, they cheerd loudly during lead solos, and they were quiet during the chorous, when they just sat back and enjoyed the singing. Let just say that everybody wants more from The Dummies.  Its safe to say that we stole the show that night, and everybody was asking… "Where are you from?" Instead of answering them, I smiled.

The Association 2.0 were the best, Yen, Philip, Isaac, Tiqah, Milan, Corina, Babe, Lee, Kong, Shirley, Grace, Viss, Alex, Christina and Cynthia came with us. They cheered till some of them lose their voice that night. After we perform, me and my sisters went for dinner with Philip and Kong, and shortly after that all of us went karaoke-ing at Layar Fantasi.

12.45 pm the next morning, I receive a text message from Sifu, telling us that we were chosen as the best band of the night, and that we would open for the next gig at 27th April which is a battle of the band at Temuai; and the prize is rm1000. I hope we can enter the battle.

Sum sh#t to think about . dun read it if ur smart.

November 3rd, 2007 by ibanmangah

Whats with the weather here in kuching eh? Its been raining for a week now, and I’ve got a flu out of it. As it all seems to be wet all week long, suddenly today it was so damn hot. Now, I have something in my mind for some times now. Since I’ve been staying in Taman Putri, I have been culture shocked by the lifestyle so Hypocritic and racist. Honestly, I came from a family with lots of religion and believe. I have never tought that the people around Taman Putri can be so racist and hypocrite. That day, my housemate was asked to change the way she dress because she was "too sexy". What gives my "friendly" neighbour such power to criticize her? Who was the one turned on by her? Im quite sure its not us; because we are so sure we never slept with her, even there was a time whan she sleeps with us guys. We didnt have sex. OK? I just cant believe it. Does the way she dress disturbs the peace of the world? Do people bomb an airport because of her? Surely NOT. And another thing, my "friendly" neighbour said that I cant live like an Iban (just because we drank alcohol outside of our house, but we still are in our own compound) in a place full of Malays. So he assumed that since I drank outside of the house; that Is Iban culture? That is the "Way of The LongHouse"? Does it mean that Malays DONT drink at all? or do they? I asumed, my "friendly" neighbour only drinks (liquor or beer) inside the safety of his four walls? Come on people… even as Malaysians, why cant we just accept who we are? EVERYBODY drinks, wears sexy, likes to look at sexy chicks and so on… right? dun lie to yourself. Myname is Walter Samuel, and now Im SOBER. but, I like to drink. Just accept it, what you do here on earth is between you and your own personal God. Whoever God you worship, even if its The Lord, Allah, Buddha, Siva, Keling, or even Diego Maradonna. WHAT YOU DO HERE ON EARTH IS BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR GOD; so dun fu#k with us, coz I have a very disturbing mind, dun make me set hell on you. I am sorry God, Im sure You’d understand. I have been holding up quite some time with these racis and  hypocrites. This is just sum sh#t to think about.

On the 30th was our third drinking party in 2 weeks. Right after raya, we drank from 6 pm till 3 am, and on Tuesday night that same week, me, Isaac, Philip and Tiqah was invited by Gagak Hitam to drink at their pad.

On the 30th, once again I introduced something new to my fellow Associates, where for some of them, it was their very 1st time drinking fruit punch spiked with Royale…

Including Hafiz, Gideon and Andygie were The Original Associates whom ever drank with us. Whose next? only The Originals can answer.

the association-a new begining

August 25th, 2007 by ibanmangah

An old soul am I… 23 yrs old and havent got my Diploma yet. No use to feel bad now, all my fault in the first place. When I first came to Twintech (TCS), I promised myself that there would be no more drinking, no more playing around, no more music, no more parties, no more Association. At first it all went well; many things happened that made me grow up.But as they said, bad habits die hard, and I broke my promise to myself.

born The Innocent Dummies ( 2 battle of the Band winners and 2 gigs under our belt) and of course, the rebirth of the infamous Association. Some even called us The Virgin Killers.

The Association is a family… we take care of those who took care of us. We drink and party hard. In august we had 6 parties. As long as my leg is in gud shape, get em’ bottles and cans rollin baby.

This time around there are 13 of us.

  1. Me(Walter Samuel- The Founder)
  2. Andygie(The Transporter, the Funky-Guy)
  3. Gideon(Mr Sexyback, the gentleman’s tear)
  4. Leonard aka Guy (Lead Guitarist, Stiffler’s Friend)
  5. Soda(Bassist,Desperate Twintech, sometimes DJ in our party.)
  6. Yen (my sis..)
  7. Isaac (The Don, mr Money in The Bank)
  8. Phillip (Bi-Guy)
  9. Tqah (The Biatch)
  10. Millan (Nazib’s Gal)
  11. Nazib (Millan’s Boy)
  12. Corrina (juz another chick)
  13. Josh aka Apea (the drummer)

we have many other associates that I didnt list here.. just wait for it. this 31st August we will drink again.. I hope for blessings from all the former members of the Association. I just got to make a new one.

Finally… The Inoccent Dummies will rock INTI

LONG LIVE THE ASSOCIATION!

About that

April 16th, 2007 by ibanmangah

Well, it’s been a while I’ve written something here. I came to believe that there is no use for me to write a blog. But after all that I have been through, I guess that it wouldn’t hurt to write something nice for a change. Last night I went with “Geng Terpaksa” to a GPK Praise and Worship at St Joseph’s parish hall. Normally I wouldn’t go even if they pay me, but last night I went just to test-drive my leg. My leg is killing me now, but it was worth it. I finally have the confident to return to collage after 3 weeks of rehabilitation and rest at home. I don’t really know what’s wrong with my leg, but the doctors I’ve seen said that it’s because of some nerves in my thigh. Anyhow, let’s get back to the Praise and Worship session. First of all, I never like the idea of people (especially youths) worshipping The Lord by singing and jumping around as if they are in a rock concert. Forgive me if you think that I am a bit old-fashioned, but that was my own opinion. Do you think The Lord would like it if we praise him in rock songs and jump around in an uncivilized manner? Don’t get me wrong here, because in a rock concert I would be amongst the first ones to start a “mosh pit”. To me, praising The Lord should be done in a manner of respect and tranquility. I know that some people would say that by mixing rock and pop into the way of worshiping The Lord is a new way to attract the younger generation, but it’s like making peace with an enemy country by flying their flag higher than ours. “WHY NOT?” After reading the above, do you think that I should be asking myself this question? Yes, I asked myself this question. Why can’t I accept other people’s idea or way? Why am I so ego in this matter? It was never stated in the Ten Commandments that we could not praise and worship The Lord in a certain way. Right? After tonight, I am willing to open my heart and mind to this alternative way in worshiping The Lord. It’s about time I throw away my negativity and start to follow what Christian youths all over the world are doing; rocking for God. My uncle used to invite me to all this concerts and gathering before, but I just can’t open up to it. I hope, after this The Lord would open up my mind and push my ego and self centered opinion aside so that I could join today’s Christian youth in worshiping The Lord in a new way. Tonight’s P and R session went well. A great concert I might say, and a better response by the audiences too. The students from UNIMAS, UNITAR, POLITECH, INTI College and some other higher learning institute here in Kuching participated. They look sincere in the worship to what I see. Sometimes I just wonder, are they really into it or just being there because they have no where else to go? Sorry for the comment, but this is who I am. I always see 2 sides of the story. Maybe that’s what you’ll get when grow up in my environment. I am really sorry if what I’ve written here offended anyone, anyhow this is just my opinion.

Of Sound and Concrete

September 21st, 2006 by ibanmangah

Someone once said that men have tamed all the living animals and have conquer everything earthly and even beyond; but there is one thing that men have never really can control, that is the tongue. In Christianity, the ability to control one’s tongue is the highest level of maturity. Even the greatest of men cant control their tongue. Whatever things that have been said especially if it is harsh and even untrue; shall be remembered and taken seriouslly by the recipient even though deep inside we question the nature of it. Wars and fights and murders mostly started with the tongue. I myself am also known for saying something harsh without ever really meaning it, especially when someone says something smart. Even my father always warned me about it, "becareful, if you dont control it wisely someday your tongue will kill you.." If you think my father was going too much when he used the word "kill", you should social more with me, and hopfully you can see why he use that word with ME.

The tongue is a powerfull weapon indeed. Lives depend on how people manipulate words; coming forth as sound by the existence of tongue. I hope you can seek deeply into this matter and understand what i am trying to bring fourth to you here. I am a man of many sins; and I know I indeed cant control my tongue too, but i am tring my best. God gave us the ability to speak, and it is a form of a beauty.. So use your tongue to bring forth beautiful sound and make people around you happy. Dont gossip and curse… In my case; i hate gossip; but I DO CURSE A LOT. I also tell many lies in my life; and I hope may God have mercy in my soul.
